Grade: A (Not really any spoilers)I'll admit, the 12 year old year old in me wanted to come out screaming in excitement about these films when I heard they were being made. I was a collector of the toys when I was younger and wish I still had them. When I heard they were making the original film for release in 2007, I was very skeptical and almost angered because I was afraid Hollywood would ruin what I held dear as memories of these toys, much like they've done with some films.
Revenge of the Fallen delivered as promised from Michael Bay. There's more action, drama, and best of all, more robots - in action. And it wastes no time in getting started. This film actually centers around Optimus Prime. You pretty much find out why he's this legendary leader and why he's important. The forest scene where he takes on 3 decepticons is
"I'll take you all on!!" That was crazy. Before this film came out there was a lot of speculation and rumors surrounding the script and what direction the writers would take. The writers, Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman wrote the original film as well as this one and honestly, for films that are about Hasbro toys, they did a fantastic job. A buddy and I were talking about it the other day and he said you could drive a truck through the plot holes, but it was fun. Of course...it's a movie. But it's still damn entertaining to watch. My wife didn't think the story was very strong, but I disagreed. I liked that the story arc was older and we find that this isn't the first time the robots have visited Earth. The story surrounding the Fallen was very cool. I don't know how accurate it is in regards to actual Transformers' history...I'm just not that geeky, and I'm too lazy to research it.
Orci and Kurtzman are great writers and I'm looking forward to what's in their future. They have pretty resumes too, including writing this year's 'Star Trek', creating the TV show 'Fringe', 'Mission Impossible III', and of course the 'Transformers' franchise. The next 'Transformers' will be released in the Summer of 2011, according to Michael Bay's website.
If you liked the first 'Transformers' even remotely, watch Revenge of the Fallen. It's a film that has a ton of great special effects, good comedy, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Loved it! You don't watch this type of movie for story line anyway. Not that it was bad, its just all about the action, and there was plenty of it! Blue Ray and High Def....the only way to go on this one!
